Albion keeper Michel Kuipers has been lined up for a make or break comeback in the Reserves tomorrow.
Boss Steve Coppell is planning to play the Dutchman, as well as injury-plagued Paul Kitson, in the Combination fixture at Oxford United (2pm).
Kuipers has been out since pulling the kicking muscle in his right thigh in the FA Cup exit at Norwich ten weeks ago.
Coppell wants him to test the injury so he can decide whether he needs to draft in cover for Dave Beasant before Thursday's transfer deadline.
"I am looking for Michel to play," Coppell revealed.
"I know he is still not comfortable with his leg but if he plays and the leg goes then I know I've got 24 hours and it gives me a chance to maybe do something."
Coppell will wait for the outcome of a second scan on Bobby Zamora's slight hamstring strain before deciding whether to sign another striker.
"I would say Bobby has got a good chance for Reading (April 4), but we don't know how deep the injury was," Coppell said.
"We will probably have another scan tomorrow to chart progress.
"If we have more of an educated guess as regards time then it might prompt me to do something, but that is all linked to availability."
