What a shame. It just seems like one thing after another to hamper the restoration of Brighton's once-beautiful West Pier.
Can anyone advise us about the birds who have made this their home for some years? Would all the chicks be old enough to have escaped or will they have perished?
Here's hoping good fortune smiles on the West Pier again and no further catastrophes happen.
