The public is about to get the first glimpse of four new Mid Sussex schools costing £100 million.
Construction company HBG Projects will reveal drawings and plans towards the end of the week for the schools it has been contracted to build in Crawley as part of a multi-million pound Private Finance Initiative deal.
The project includes a new secondary school for the fast-growing Maidenbower neighbourhood with up to 1,450 places and total replacement of Thomas Bennett Community College and Ifield Community College on their existing sites.
It also covers construction of a new leisure centre on the Thomas Bennett campus, led by Crawley Borough Council, and a new Desmond Anderson primary school.
The company will maintain the new Catherington and Deerswood Special Schools.
London-based HBG has previously completed an £18.1 million PFI schools project for East Sussex County Council.
West Sussex County Council announced it had selected HBG as the preferred bidder last week.
