Mr R Sharpe and, perhaps, others will be pleased to know the Thirties' Gatwick "Beehive" has not been demolished and is a Grade I-listed building (Feedback, The Argus, March 14).
This "innovative, but small, circular terminal building" has been refurbished and lies within the new City Place Gatwick development.
Pity about the old railway station (which my children loved to visit) and the tunnel which innovatively linked the "Beehive" terminal with the station.
These were demolished to make way for the new development because (inexplicably and regrettably) they were not given Grade I-listed protection.
My children actually shed tears at the time of demolition. I shed tears of anger.
