Ben Carrington secured Worthing's first away win in four and a half months with the only goal at relegated Chertsey.

Carrington scored for the third successive match 18 minutes from time to sink the division one south hosts, who missed the best chances of the match and also had a first half penalty saved.

Dwayne Ackerman's spot kick on the stroke of half time lacked power, after Rebels keeper Luke Burton was penalised for bringing down Gary Blake, and Burton dived to his right to make the save.

Worthing enjoyed some good fortune in the build-up to Carrington's winner when Paul Rapps was not penalised for a foul despite appearing to push his marker before crossing. It was not a clean strike by Carrington with the ball going inside the near post from six yards off his shin.

A first half booking for Worthing striker Mark Knee for taking a dive in the area took his number of cautions up to ten and faces a two-match ban.
