Reluctantly, I am compelled to reply to Michael Fisher (Letters, March 20).
Regular readers of the letters page may have noted the various letters from Mr Fisher during the past couple of months.
These letters are not in reply to concerns raised by residents but are seemingly pointless jibes against the Lib Dems.
For the record, Mr Fisher is the Labour candidate in the forthcoming elections.
As a result, any public correspondence from him should be addressed as such and not just Michael Fisher, Kings Road.
Local residents deserve to know what their local candidate is saying - even more so if it is negative, as in Mr Fisher's case.
Mr Fisher has, for the second time in as many letters, made reference to local personality Brian Ralfe.
The only connection or relevance I can make is that Mr Ralfe has been selected as one of the Lib Dem candidates to stand in Westbourne ward, the same ward Mr Fisher fought at the last election and lost.
Of the three councillors representing Labour in Regency, one has gone independent and one has been de-selected from standing again at the next local election for the same area.
Lib Dems are listening to residents' concerns and have been working hard locally in an effort to turn around Brighton and Hove City Council's track record of neglect in Regency ward.
Residents in the ward face serious problems because of the Labour council's inaction on rubbish, street cleaning, policing, planning, regeneration and parking.
With all these problems to deal with, I am surprised Mr Fisher even has the time to write letters to The Argus.
-Kevin Donnelly, Lib Dem candidate, Regency ward, Brighton
