Engineering group Babcock Intl is to use its skills to benefit the military after contracts were announced yesterday with the US Army and NATO.
The work is part of £11 million worth of contracts secured in March by the London-based company.
Babcock has already gained sole bidder status through its Holdfast consortium to provide training and support for the Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME).
The 30-year tie-up could be worth as much as £1 billion.
Among the other deals is a one-year joint venture contract with DynCorp International to manage NATO camps in Kosovo.
News of the contracts came as Babcock waited for final approval of its bid to run the RSME, located on several sites in Chatham, Kent, and also at Camberley in Surrey.
