Pease Pottage know their future is safe County League division two despite looking like finishing the season second from bottom.
Pottage will not be relegated because of the merger between Eastbourne United and Shinewater.
Goals from Steve Ringwood and Duncan Jones gave Westfield a 2-0 win at Pottage on Saturday and left the hosts seven points adrift of third-from-bottom Crawley Down who beat Shinewater 5-1.
It was Darren Barker's first victory since returning as joint-manager of Crawley Down and he is pleased with the progress which has seen them take five points from his first four games.
Barker said: "I was happier. We passed the ball well and moved off the ball well. We created space and that allows us to create chances."
Dave Connor, who was languishing in the third team when Barker took over, scored twice to make it three goals in two games since being restored to the first team.
Darren Tidey also netted two and new signing Sam Thornback from Three Bridges got the other.
An astonishing game at Broadbridge Heath saw the hosts beat Wealden 5-4 with all the goals coming in the final 36 minutes.
Dan Attwater finally broke the deadlock on 54 minutes and Paul Gallagher put Heath 2-0 up three minutes later.
Dan Merry then scored at either end in a space of a minute, first halving the deficit and then scoring an own goal to put the hosts 3-1 up.
Further goals followed for Heath from Ramin Jarvand and Warren Sweatman, with replies for Wealden coming from Darren Gearing and a late brace by Jimmy Sneddon.
The visitors also had Chris Packham sent off in the closing stages.
Jason Mewett was the unlikely matchwinner as Seaford won 1-0 at Saltdean United.
Mewett has only recently returned from South Africa and was called up as Seaford had four players missing through suspension.
He responded with the only goal on 34 minutes, a powerful header from eight yards.
Richard Piper missed two good chances for Eastbourne United as they drew 0-0 at Lancing.
Paul McMichael, with a penalty, and Gareth Dutton earned Steyning Town a 2-0 win at home to Mile Oak.
