One in ten firms believed it was "extremely likely" it would be the victim of terrorism in the next two years.
The research comes from a survey of 50 security and risk managers at multinational companies in a study by think-tank RAND Europe and The Risk Advisory Group.
Half the companies believed terrorism was a bigger threat than crime or fraud and 63 per cent said terrorist attacks were a "significant threat".
Some 74 per cent believed the threat would increase in the coming months.
