A public meeting is being planned to discuss the controversial issue of mobile phone masts.

With residents concerned about the possible impact of masts on health, Worthing Borough Council is bidding to establish a forum where fears can be expressed.

Several phone companies have expressed a wish to take part but organisers want an independent voice at the meeting.

They are hoping to invite a leading expert on the siting of mobile phone masts to address the audience while the National Radiological Protection Board has also indicated its willingness to attend.

No date or venue for the meeting has yet been arranged.
