Youngsters carried giant daffodils to launch a spring competition.
Around 120 schoolchildren took part in the Hello Yello procession through Crawley town centre on Saturday.
Pupils from Deerswood School, Langley Green Middle School, Gossops Green Middle School and Thomas Bennett Community College were hoping to encourage people to take part in the Crawley in Bloom contest.
They worked with artists from Same Sky Celebrity Arts to create their costumes and flowers for the parade.
The procession left the Memorial Gardens at noon and made its way to Queens Square.
Youngsters were accompanied by a band, including an accordion player.
Burgess Hill town crier Neil Batsford helped launch the Burgess Hill in Bloom competition on the same day.
The launch took place at the Garden Pride garden centre, with entrants and shoppers serenaded by the Mid Sussex Brass Band.
Officials used the event to name the winner of the town's Best Spring Garden competition.
A trophy was presented to resident Chris Redknap for his display in Wyberlye Road.
