I thank everyone who has been kind enough to respond to my recent request for pen pals for my sons.

Through the article in The Argus (March 25), I have received lots of letters, all of which I have forwarded to the members of 2 Battalion REME, currently in southern Iraq.

I had not expected the response I got. I, too, received some extremely compassionate and sympathetic correspondence for myself.

I have not heard from either of my sons since the start of active service but continue to write to them regularly.

I have sent to them everyone's good wishes.
