I visit the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Sick Children, Brighton, at least once a week.
While, during the past 18 months, parking has become easier because of the presence of traffic wardens, I noticed Brighton and Hove City Council has turned the majority of the spaces into "resident only" bays.
The majority of these spaces are empty yet it took us 35 minutes to find a parking space. I wonder how many people are late for appointments because of these restrictions?
This also wastes valuable NHS time and money.
It is not just patients and visitors to the hospital who suffer. Staff also have to leave wards and departments to move their cars every two hours.
Even on the occasions my baby daughter was in intensive care and still being given emergency treatment for epilepsy, I had to move my car.
There must be something that can be done about this ludicrous situation.
