Recently, while looking at the photos of the burnt-out West Pier structure, I was struck by the resemblaence of the framework to that of various Victorian glasshouses, particularly the Palm House at Kew.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to clad the framework in glass and have our own sparkling "Crystal Palace" on the seafront?
As the old theatre did not form any part of the original pier, there is no need to produce a replica. A glass conservatory would also be rather cheaper.
