Having read in the Press that Brighton and Hove City Council is doing a good job clearing up the city, I wrote to tell council officials of my experience.
I live in a house converted into four privately rented flats.
The house on the corner of London Road and Harrington Road, Brighton, has always been a problem because of ever-changing tenants in the one-bedroom flatlets.
For almost a year, within a couple of yards of my front window, has been placed a settee (which was red initially but now has gone pink), a fridge and a couple of iron bedsteads.
These are just off the pavement. I have written to the council and requested they be removed. I received no reply but am now expected to pay a vastly increased council tax.
As an 88-year-old, I am no longer physically or mentally fit for a fight.
