Once again, East Sussex County Council is up to its old tricks (The Argus, April 10).

Now it is opposing a National Park with my money. The council said there had been consultation with the people of East Sussex.

If this happened, it was only with friends of the council.

Let us go back over the past year. First, there was the disaster over residential homes.

After closing them, people who were in hospital were left there (bedblocking).

In August, there were 106 residents in the hospitals around Sussex.

Then the council announced in January it had none in the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. I checked on this and found they had been transferred to Brighton General Hospital.

Then, of course, the council had the Audit Commission's inspection, which came up with a "Poor" result. Now we have £50,000 being spent on lawyers' fees to oppose the National Park.

I can only say to the people of East Sussex, don't trust the council with your money - check every penny it gets from council taxpayers and make sure it is spent the way you want it spent.
