Isn't our language wonderful?
When is right wrong and left right? Answer: When you are using a pathway or pavement.
I will rephrase the question: When is the right-hand side the incorrect side and the lefthand side the correct side?
Explanation: It is common sense to pass an approaching person on the correct side while you are walking facing the traffic.
You will then be able to see whether it is safe to step off the curb into the road or whether there is a puddle to step away from to avoid being splashed.
With your back to the traffic, you could be in trouble. I have observed that 90 per cent of pedestrians walk on the wrong/right side.
