Worthing fought out a goalless division one south draw at Banstead Athletic just a week after hitting five goals to sink Epsom and Ewell on the same ground.
Frenchman Florian Mateos, who scored twice last week, was forced off injured on 28 minutes with the inexperienced Shane Moses joining Ben Carrington up front in a tight game.
Rebels, who have lost only one of their last ten matches, again had to make do without the suspended Mark Knee and Paul Brown cleared off the line early on before Wesley Lopez forced Banstead keeper Paul Borg to punch clear.
Borg later saved a 20-yard effort by Andy Walker after former Bognor striker Lee Cormack smacked a right-foot shot against a post.
Lopez carried the biggest threat for Rebels and he was twice thwarted by Borg early in the second half after probing runs at the home defence.
Marcel Dennis and Michael Beale were both off target for Banstead, and Andy Alexander came close to snatching it for Worthing a minute from time when he shot powerfully over the bar from a pass by substitute Richard Lewis.
Dulwich Hamlet stepped up the pressure on promotion rivals Bognor and Lewes with victory at Walton and Hersham last night.
A 4-1 success lifted Dulwich above Lewes and Carshalton into second place behind leaders Bognor.
Just five points separate the top four, although Lewes have a game in hand on the other three sides.
The Rooks begin a series of three games in five days away to Croydon Athletic on Saturday.
