Police are hunting two masked youths armed with a craft knife who raided an off-licence in Worthing and stole £74.

The robbers entered the Threshers store in Salvington Road, Durrington, via the main front door and went to the cash register area.

One of the youths went behind the counter and forced open the register drawer while the other remained in front of the counter and leaned over to help steal the money.

They are both described as white, of slim build and 5ft 10in.

They were wearing light-coloured hooded tops and scarves to conceal their faces, plus jeans and white trainers.

After the raid, which took place at 9.35pm last Wednesday, the youths ran off along Salvington Road.

In another incident, detectives are appealing for witnesses following an attempted burglary at a house in Silver Birch Road, West Durrington, Worthing, on April 5 at about 1pm.

Residents saw a man with a carrier bag jumping over the back garden fence of a house and walking along Yeoman Road.

He is described as white, in his late 20s, 5ft 9in, with short brown hair.

He was wearing a grey tracksuit top and jeans.
