I have not met a more committed person than Mrs Pat Weller from the Knoll Estate (letters, April 14).
Labour candidates in Hangleton can't even get her gender right.
Pat is a thoroughly-decent person, very hardworking, modest and with a highly-developed social conscience.
She is not one to make unwarranted claims about her own work and abilities on the Knoll Estate or other community work agencies.
Where I live now, in South Portslade, Labour candidates for the forthcoming elections are also attempting to underestimate the work of community activists, this time on the Denmark Road issue.
Here, the potential Labour councillors are over-emphasising their contribution to the local good.
We could say it's only politics but Labour need to be reminded that in May, their fate rests in our hands.
They should not over-play things.
