The winners of the 2003 Littlehampton Merit Awards have been honoured for their contribution to life in the town.
The individual award went to Bill Kelsey.
Mr Kelsey first joined the Air Cadets in 1941 and was a founder member of the Littlehampton 1087 (Arun Valley) Squadron Air Training Corps.
He has been involved since that time, with the exception of a short spell in the RAF.
As a warrant officer and civilian instructor he was appointed president in 1991.
He has also been an active member of RAFA, serving on several committees and holding various posts within the organisation.
He is currently chairman of the Air Training Corps fund-raising committee.
The Littlehampton Citizens Advice Bureau was named as the group winner.
CAB staff and volunteers were honoured for the excellent service they give to the people of Littlehampton.
They were also commended for setting up a new web site.
