I am pleased to finally see an increase in residential parking spaces in the Seven Dials area.
However, I worry that more permits are also being issued.
For three years, I have paid for the "privilege" of parking where I live. Yet, due to the number of permits exceeding that of residential spaces, I have, on many occasions, had to park in a two-hour space or on a yellow line of an evening and then haul myself out of bed early the next day to move the car into a vacated residents' space.
It seems permits are issued purely to placate angry residents and have no real value.
