a scandalous military assault on the defenceless (thanks to UN Resolutions) sovereign and independent state of Iraq into a virtue.

If we look to the UN to respond with sanctions against the leaders of the so-called "coalition" for breaching the UN Charter, we may have a long wait. In the meantime, a new chapter in international relations is being established.

No doubt encouraged by the sickening jingoism of most of the media, some of which previously condemned the war, it seems that, from hereon, any nation or group of nations can decide to invade the territory of another and topple its leadership either because it possesses valuable resources (such as oil) or refuses to pay homage to the values of its accusers.

However, when the "good guys" have complete mastery of our planet, is there not a real danger of them becoming the "bad guys" and who will be left, after the inevitable nuclear holocaust, to remove them?

Some will think it may not matter but, in the meantime, how many innocent men, women and children must suffer and die at the hands of what amounts to lawless mercenaries?
