The bodies of two men were discovered at the base of a notorious suicide spot on Friday.
They were found about 50 yards apart, 400 yards east of the Belle Tout lighthouse at Beachy Head, near Eastbourne.
One was believed to be in his mid-30s, the other in his late-20s.
Police are trying to establish their identities and whether their deaths are suspicious and linked.
The discoveries were made as hundreds of people flocked to Beachy Head for the Easter bank holiday weekend.
Police, ambulance, coastguard and RNLI lifeboat crews were alerted following the discovery of the first body by a walker just before 3.30pm.
The inshore lifeboat brought both bodies to the RNLI depot at Royal Parade, Eastbourne, just before 5.30pm.
Both bodies were then taken to the Eastbourne District General Hospital where post-mortem examinations will be carried out.
The last time two bodies were found at Beachy Head was on July 19 last year.
Elizabeth Taylor, 39, of Bedford Grove, Eastbourne, was discovered alongside Sandy Watts, also from Eastbourne, who was bound and gagged.
Although their deaths were at first treated as suspicious, it later emerged they had committed suicide separately.
