Eastbourne Borough boss Garry Wilson put the celebrations on hold after his side all but clinched promotion with a 3-0 win against Erith and Belvedere.
Borough will only miss out on promotion to the premier if they lose their last two games and Stamford win their two, making up 19 goals in the process.
Wilson said: "We will not be celebrating until it is official, because we have no right to. There is still a lot to play for because we want to go up as champions."
Borough started where they had left off against Bashley on Saturday and twice in the opening ten minutes skipper Daren Pearce missed golden chances.
The home side thought they had won a penalty in the 13th minute when Richard Vercesi handled in the box but their appeals were turned down.
Borough did win a penalty in the 30th minute when Andy Ducille was bundled over by Richard Fox. Pearce stroked the spot-kick home with ease.
Matt Crabb and Scott Ramsay were denied by Erith keeper Clark Hunt but on 42 minutes he was beaten by a Crabb header after a flowing move involving John Westcott and Ben Austin.
Ramsay won another penalty just before the break. Pearce's spot kick was saved but Matt Smart was quickest to react to score.
Borough dominated the second half and both Smart and Ramsay fired wide from long range efforts.
Tempers flared in the 73rd minute when Pearce and Darren Adams clashed but both players got away with a yellow card.
St Leonards crashed to a 4-2 defeat against hosts Dartford as they succumbed to some razor-sharp finishing in the second half.
Two superb finishes by Martin Buglione in the space of three minutes early in the second half turned the game in the Darts' favour.
Saints replied when defender Sean Ray went up front and scored with a firm header but within 60 seconds Tristan Wood conceded a penalty which was converted by Buglione.
Player-boss Gary Bowyer gave Saints hope with five minutes to go as he struck from 20 yards but sub Danny Nichols added a fourth soon after for the hosts.
