Last Monday, I found myself at a stimulating and somewhat alarming public meeting at the Shoreham Centre in Shoreham.
There was crowd of about 200 who had come to listen to three speakers.
The first was Norris McWhirter (of Guinness Book of Records fame), who spoke about the suppressed political deceits which developed into the EU.
Next came Douglas Denney, a United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) candidate from Chichester for the EU elections next year, who spoke about war and politics.
Finally, that well-known MEP for the South East Nigel Farage of the UKIP explained, among other things, how he and his two party colleagues were the only three British MEPs out of 87 who voted against enlarging the EU in 2004 and its effect on our pockets.
To finish the programme a video was shown, aptly entitled Shockwaves, made by an independent non-party research group, Sanity, which sent those of us who love our country away very dispirited but with glimpses of hope for the future.
Interestingly, I found this amply attended meeting was organised by the UKIP.
