Eastern division leaders Eastbourne Borough can clinch promotion and the title tomorrow one year ahead of schedule.
Garry Wilson's men require one point from their remaining two matches starting with tomorrow's trip to King's Lynn to guarantee their spot in the premier division while a victory, and anything other than a win for second-placed Dorchester, would also secure them the championship with an unassailable 93 points.
If the results go their way, Wilson will be as surprised as anyone to find himself celebrating promotion.
He said: "I told the chairman at the start of the season that I did not think we would be capable of promotion this season.
"I expected an improvement on last year's seventh place finish but thought we would just miss out on the promotion places.
"We hoped to be able to keep together the players from this season for next year and with a couple of additions with the new budget make a real push for it. This season has exceeded our expectations."
He added: "We are just pleased to be all but promoted barring a disaster but it would also be nice to go up as champions."
Defenders Stuart Tuck (ankle) and Rob Longhurst (knee) are the major injury concerns for Wilson ahead of the trip.
