Controversial Grand Prix star Jason Crump is in trouble again.

Crump, who spearheads the Belle Vue challenge at Arlington tomorrow night, faces a ban from British speedway when the BSPA committee meet on May 6.

Crump and Peterborough's Ryan Sullivan were both missing as their teams crashed to heavy defeats on Easter Monday, opting instead to ride in Poland.

Whatever the outcome of the BSPA inquiry, however, Crump should be around to make sure Eagles don't have things all their own way this weekend.

Runner-up to Tony Rickardsson in the last two world championships, Crump begins the Grand Prix trail in Poland next month as one of the favourites for the crown.

Statistically, he is the strongest link in the world's toughest league, having finished as the highest scorer in the Elite League last season with an average of 10.42.

The Australian, who was act-ually born in Bristol and is the son of former star rider Phil Crump, is also a hard man to beat around Arlington. In his last six matches against Eagles at Eastbourne, he has amassed 19 wins and 74 points.

And a few years back, he nearly sparked a riot when he rode into Alan Mogridge and left him and his machine in a heap on the pits bend.
