With the weather being nice, it's been an excellent and very intense week of training which will hopefully have got us the desired result against Watford today.

And anyone who came to the Withdean for the open day would have seen a bubbly and talented squad train with plenty of confidence.

It was a competitive morning's training with the green team doing remarkably well having to carry two of our players, though it must be said that Harty did redeem himself a little with three sweet strikes late on but Alfie Blackwell can just put his morning down to ageing limbs.

John 'Canvey Cat' Keeley enjoyed a fine morning's training until geriatric New Romantic fatigue kicked in and he was as watertight as Paul Rogers' bladder.

Then 200 junior Seagulls fans were let on to the pitch to get autographs with 185 running straight to Bobby (it wasn't all him, you know).

It was an historic day at the Albion last Tuesday as Louis got his first but not his last de-bagging.

The Mexican was a little too chirpy having let Mal's (physio) giant ferret run on the training pitch, so he was rugby-tackled, stripped, whipped, slapped and dragged round the training pitch naked, receiving grass burns everywhere.

Needless to say he's been a choirboy ever since.

I'd also like to wish speedy recoveries to Bob 'Dusty' Booker and Dean 'Bargain Bucket' White, who have both gone down with a mysterious virus.

Well I say mysterious, but Bob's must have been contracted while doing a spot of birdwatching in Burgess Hill's industrial estate and I'll hazard a guess that Hasselhoff got his from a dodgy rib while munching the Super Rack from Barney's Ribs and Wings, Hastings High Street.

And finally it was good news for our two-footed legend of a goalkeeper, Dave 'Chicken Ass' Beasant, as the results of his scan came through on Wednesday.

At first it was feared he had torn a thigh muscle, but the scan showed that one of his butt cheeks had slipped into his thigh ten years ago and only now he's noticed it, and hopefully he should have been fit for the visit of Watford.

The candle of our First Division status continues to burn as I write this. Granted the flame may be flickering but it remains alight.

Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, which condemned them to relegation, left us relying on Stoke losing both their remaining games while we needed to win both our remaining games to ensure First Division survival.

Without the benefit of knowing today's results, that scenario is far from impossible.

We are definitely capable of winning both our matches especially as it's Last Chance Saloon and we are buying.

Secondly, Stoke's two games are against sides with something at stake.

They travelled to Crystal Palace this weekend where the team will be attempting to win games to give the caretaker managers a better chance of the full-time post.

On the final day, when hopefully we will still have an interest, they play Reading, who will want to win to ensure or enhance play-off credentials.

If Stoke did lose today and we won, the pressure pendulum will have swung drastically. We will be filled with confidence and our momentum will surely carry us home. I acknowledge that there are a lot of 'ifs', but we must stay positive and keep focused right to the end. And it is vital that you as fans get behind us as we will need your vocal and positive support.
