Police believe four armed robberies on shops in which cash and cigarettes were stolen are linked.
The latest happened at a BP service station, Kingsway, Hove, at 11pm on Sunday.
Two men threatened staff with a knife and made off with the contents of the till.
The first robbery happened on Wednesday last week when two men entered Threshers in Holland Road, Hove, just before 6.30pm.
They threatened staff with a screwdriver and fled with cash and cigarettes.
The second was the following night at 10pm at Threshers in Queen's Park Road, Brighton.
The third was at Asda supermarket in Brighton Marina in the early hours of Saturday.
The robbers were described as white, in their late teens or early 20s, slim and with northern accents.
