Yet again, Roger French fobs off the Brighton and Hove public with his reasons for the increase in bus fares.
A few years ago, I holidayed in Phoenix, Arizona, and found they had run a simple pricing policy of $1 for three hours of riding time - simple for everyone to understand and cheap, too.
So I was impressed when Brighton and Hove buses decided to make life a lot easier for all of us by introducing the flat rate - surprised, though, as the bus company has been spiralling downhill after several decades of mismanagement.
This increase shows not all the dead wood has been eradicated. I'm glad I don't have the misfortune to travel on Brighton and Hove buses any more.
