Stephen Montague and Philip Mead, at St Nicholas Church on May 9, fuse traditional instruments such as the piano and harp with electronic sounds. Starts 8pm, costs £7.50.
Ixion, at St Nicholas Church on, May 10, will perform a series of snapshot pieces reflecting the latest trends in European contemporary classical music. Starts 3pm, costs £7.50.
The Fat Cat record label introduces cutting edge sounds from a selection of their artists at the Gardner Arts Centre on May 10, including the psychedelic Black Dice, piano-based songwriter David Grubbs and Finish singer/songwriter Drowsy. Starts 7pm, costs £12/£10.
Dirty Three and The Clogs play a double bill at the Gardner Arts Centre on May 11, blending alternative rock with contemporary classical and strains of folk. Starts 7.30pm, costs £12/£10.
