A prison watch is being kept 24 hours a day on the man accused of murdering Brighton schoolteacher Jane Longhurst.
Musician Graham Coutts, 35, is being held at Belmarsh top-security prison in south London.
The news came after Soham murder suspect Ian Huntley was taken to hospital following an overdose of anti-depressants and paracetamol. He too had been on 24-hour watch.
Police sources confirmed Coutts was being watched round-the-clock.
Coutts, of Waterloo Street, Hove, has been remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on August 1.
Jane, 31, who taught children with special needs at Uplands School in Brighton, disappeared from her home in Shaftesbury Road, Brighton, on March 14.
Her burning body was discovered at an RSPB reserve, near Pulborough, on April 19.
