Swinging youngsters could barely contain their laughter as they enjoyed all the fun of the fair at the annual Durrington Festival.

Festival-goers lined the streets on Saturday to watch a colourful carnival procession.

Among those taking part were young playgroup members dressed up as 101 Dalmatians.

The carnival is one of the highlights of the festival and was followed by the annual village fayre.

The theme of this year's festival was youth and organisers hoped it would promote discussions about improving facilities for youngsters.

Dave Butler, co-founder and committee member of the Durrington Festival, said: "This festival has been great fun and we have had absolutely wonderful weather. We couldn't have asked for more."

The festival concluded yesterday afternoon with a joint service featuring all the local churches.
