The Max Miller Appreciation Society's recent Max In May promotion raised just over £2,000 towards a statue of Brighton and Hove's most famous comedian.
"Cheeky Chappie" Max died 40 years ago this year. A pier-to-pier collection on two May Bank Holidays contributed £70 to the overall fund.
