Billy Smart's Circus is back in Sussex after 30 years.
Artists from Russia, South Africa, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Venezuela are part of the troupe.
The show includes Ailona and her whirling hula hoops, Henri the flying clown, a bungee ballet and the Fastrax bouncing acrobatics.
Organiser Chris Baltrop said: "The first performance went very well. We are expecting the week to be very busy."
There are two performances daily and three on Saturday.
The circus, which started in 1946, continues its tour in Lancing the following week.
