A body has been recovered from a car which plunged 400 feet off a notorious East Sussex suicide spot.
Firefighters, police and coastguards were involved in the operation at Beachy Head after officers made a possible link between a suicide note and the car, a Nissan Primera.
The car was first discovered on its roof on Monday evening, 200 yards west of the Beachy Head lighthouse.
But coastguard and lifeboat teams were unable to reach the vehicle until late yesterday because of the tide.
Firefighters were ferried to the vehicle by the Eastbourne inshore lifeboat and found a man in his mid-20s dead inside.
The car's tax disc has been taken and, through that, relatives have been traced.
