The European Commission initiative to monitor the activities of Pro-Life groups is a sure sign the liberal elite, which largely dominates modern society, is fearful of its position.

There is really no cogent response to those who oppose abortion except to claim that it is a woman's right to choose - an argument that becomes increasingly jaded as its harmful consequences, especially to women, become increasingly manifest.

The lengths to which this establishment will go to preserve its ascendancy patently transgress all the accepted norms of democracy.

This was well illustrated by the decision of the BBC, recently endorsed by the House of Lords, to disallow the Pro-Life Alliance from broadcasting images of an aborted foetus.

The excuse that such images would have violated acceptable standards of decency and good taste seems particularly lame when one considers the same BBC was perfectly happy to show footage of a Chinese so-called artist actually eating a dead human foetus.

This must be symptomatic of a society that has completely dislocated its priorities.
