A sales manager was killed when his high-powered motorbike crashed as he travelled through France for a holiday in Spain, an inquest heard.

Graham Chapman, 44, was thrown from his 1,000cc Suzuki when it hit a Renault Clio as it turned left into a driveway.

Father-of-two Mr Chapman, of Perrymans Lane, High Hurstwood, Uckfield, died at the scene from multiple injuries.

He was riding separately with best friend Keith Murray, 40, as they travelled through France to Spain on June 1 last year.

Mr Chapman, who had more than 20 years' biking experience and had no previous accidents, was killed on an A-road in Le Touret, northern France.

The inquest heard the Clio driver had not indicated as she turned into the driveway of a house, leaving Mr Chapman with no time to avert a crash.

Mr Murray told the Eastbourne inquest how he glanced in his mirror to see the crash's aftermath and how Mr Chapman became separated from his machine following impact.

East Sussex coroner Alan Craze recorded a verdict of accidental death.

Afterwards, Mr Chapman's sister Jeanie Styer said legal talks were to be held about bringing a civil action against the Renault Clio's driver.
