Robbers snatched a bag from the arm of a partially-sighted woman with learning difficulties in Seaford.
The woman was walking along Blatchington Hill at 2.30pm on Wednesday June 18 when she was robbed.
The bag was found sometime later with some personal items missing.
The victim, who lives in a home for young adults who are blind or partially sighted with additional learning difficulties, was unable to give a description of the robber because of her limited sight.
A spokesman for the home said the victim had worked hard to learn routes and the skills needed to navigate the town independently and had lost a great deal of confidence.
A passer-by spoke to her after the incident and PC Alex Nocton would like to speak to her and anyone who witnessed the robbery.
He said: "This is a despicable theft from a vulnerable member of the community. I would urge anybody with any information to please contact me."
Witnesses can contact PC Nocton on 0845 6070999. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers free and in confidence on 0800 555111.
