Sussex coach Peter Moores has set his sights on the last four of the Twenty20 Cup ahead of his side's must-win home clash with Essex tomorrow.

Victory over Middlesex in midweek has kept the Sharks in contention for runners-up spot, which could yet see them through to the last four.

They will need to win tomorrow, however, and when Kent visit Hove next Tuesday to have a chance of going through.

Moores thoroughly enjoyed the defeat of Middlesex and believes his side are getting the hang of this new form of cricket.

He said:"The key thing about Twenty20 is you have to be aggressive.

"As a bowler you need to have good variations and as a batsman you can't just slog.

"Robin Martin-Jenkins gave a good example of batting against Middlesex.

"It was a measured innings with some high quality shots.

"We played really well and we need to continue that, which means setting a good score and fielding and bowling well."

Sussex's team is likely to show very few changes to the one which beat Middlesex with Tim Ambrose and Bas Zuiderent expected to rest today as their colleagues were tackling South Africa.

Middlesex got off the mark in the Twenty20 last night by beating second-placed Kent, a result which suits Sussex in their quest to finish group runners-up behind Surrey.

They will need to keep winning however to go through as best runners-up given the 100 per cent start made by both Warwickshire and Gloucestershire in the Midlands-West Wales group.

Meanwhile, paceman James Kirtley was today left out of the England side to face Pakistan in the second NatWest Challenge match with Pakistan.
