The report on the dangers of street furniture for people with impaired sight (The Argus, June 2) highlights some important issues.
The council has a code of practice for traders which encourages them to place A-boards and street furniture safely and this is being revised.
We are also preparing a walking strategy for public consultation which includes making audits of street obstructions, cleaning and maintenance.
We also work closely with specialist organisations including the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
