Fears for almost 150 Seeboard jobs grew today with plans to move computer jobs from Worthing to Plymouth.

IT workers at Seeboard's offices in Southdown View Road, Worthing, could face redundancy during a major overhaul of the electricity supplier's operations.

Moving Seeboard's customer billing services to Plymouth followed the company's takeover by London Electricity Group, last year.

A Seeboard spokesman said: "We now have 5.2 million customers and this has meant we had to relocate our customer billing.

"Our offices at Worthing will remain open and will be used for customer services."

Technology consulting firm Accenture, which has 145 employees working at the Worthing offices under a contract with Seeboard, said they had not announced any redundancies.
