Sussex League: Lewes Priory have opened a 28-point lead ahead of St James in division two.

They enjoyed their fifth win of the season with a nine-wicket victory against Haywards Heath at the Stanley Turner Ground.

Sher Khanhaga took 8-31 as Haywards Heath collapsed to 103 all out. South African Gregg Fry was top scorer with just 26.

David Luckes then made 44 not out and Imran Khan 25 not out as Lewes replied on 104-1.

St James beat Sidley by five wickets after bowling them out for just 124.

Henry Ledden grabbed 5-43 with his left-arm spin, Imran Javed with 34 was Sidley's top scorer. Mark Johnson (32) and Tim Burton (31) took their side home at 125-5, although Imran Javed did his best with 4-13.

Preston Nomads hit 222-6 declared against Roffey who held on at 218-9 at stumps in a tight finish.

For Nomads, veteran Chris Bidwell made 56 and former Sussex wicketkeeper David Smith 53. Mark Jefferson was the pick of the Roffey bowlers with 3-59.

Jefferson (50) was also in form with the bat and Simon Shivnarain made 86 in Roffey's total as Ian Jones took 3-59.

Littlehampton made 219-9 against Bexhill, of which Gary Tester hit 85 and Benn Challen 65 but Aussie Peter Lewis was the Bexhill bowling hero with figures of 7-90.

Although Steve Phillimore made 38 not out, his Bexhill side scraped to 140-8 at the close.

Gary Tester took 2-26 and Adam Tester 2-23.
