A family was rescued off Eastbourne after their yacht became entangled with lobster pots.
The three adults and two children ran into trouble aboard their 33ft vessel called Dizzy, just west of the Royal Sovereign light tower.
They radioed Dover Coastguard for help and the Eastbourne Offshore Lifeboat was launched at 8.40pm on Saturday.
Two crew members were placed on board the yacht and they managed to cut the ropes and free the vessel.
The lifeboat then towed the yacht back to Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne, about two hours later at 10.20pm.
