How lazy are Brighton and Hove's dustbin men?

All too often after the binmen have paid their weekly visit, my street is littered with rubbish which has fallen from refuse bags.

I can't imagine binmen in the United States, Scandinavia or anywhere else, where they take a pride in their streets, leaving behind piles of litter.

Little wonder then that few people in Britain bother any longer to reward the dustmen with an annual Christmas box.

The only box I'd give them is one around the ears, for their sheer idleness.
