Hundreds of thousands of pounds have been spent on developing dental services in West Sussex.
Emergency and community facilities will be based at the Jubilee Centre at St Richard's Hospital in Chichester along with a special service for people with severe disabilities.
The emergency dental service is for people in the area who are not registered with a dentist and need emergency treatment.
Previously people from the area had to travel to Worthing or Portsmouth for help.
The Friends Dental Unit, named after the Friends of Chichester Hospitals, provides lifelong care for patients with severe disabilities.
It has wheelchair access and other equipment, which may not be available in general surgeries.
The money for the £389,000 investment comes from the Friends, emergency and community dental services in West Sussex and Royal West Sussex NHS Trust.
The emergency service is available by appointment. Call the unit on 01243 831790 from Monday to Friday, 5.30pm to 10pm, and Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays between 8.30am and 1pm.
