Two Rocky Horror fans had to walk through the streets of Soho wearing a leopardskin basque and stockings when his car was clamped.
Jim Craig and his wife Jill had travelled from their home in Worthing to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
The couple are huge fans and dress the part but their latest trip proved costly and embarrassing.
They were hit by a £40 congestion charge penalty, then clamped for illegally parking and had to pay £115 to be released.
Jill said: "We had to walk right through the sleazy bits of Soho to get the car freed. I just wanted to curl up and die.
"I was wearing a lot more than Jim - he goes to the show as Frankenfurter and was wearing a leopard print basque, PVC suspenders, black fishnet stockings, black stilettos and a vast array of sparkly makeup and painted nails. It was also a damn expensive week."
Of the congestion charge, Jill said: "We were driving through, clutching £5 but not knowing where to pay. Not going into town very often, we didn't know what to do.
"We were looking for a barrier to pay at. A week later, we got a letter, and we were fined £40 for not paying the charge.
"It's all right if you work in London but the only thing everyone else has heard about this was on the telly. We were expecting a ticket barrier and instead we got a sneaky camera on top of a bollard.
It is not the first time the couple, who run Suds launderette in Rowlands Road, Worthing, have been caught out in public in their Rocky Horror gear.
They were on their way to a show in London when their car conked out in the centre of Brixton and Jim had to kick off his stilettos, jump out of the car and push if off a pedestrian crossing.
Since 1998, they have attended hundreds of shows and their travels have taken them thousands of miles in Britain and abroad.
