The completion of a £1 million town centre revamp was being celebrated in East Grinstead today.
The money has been spent on projects including improved street lighting and extra roundabouts and bus stops.
The scheme aims to make the town more environmentally friendly, with a 20mph zone to discourage drivers from cutting through and more road crossing points for pedestrians.
Seats and trees have been placed at the north end of the town.
The scheme was paid for by West Sussex County Council and Mid Sussex District Council.
