I am a single pensioner living on a small income and it makes my blood boil to hear Brighton and Hove City Council leader Ken Bodfish saying next year's council tax will rocket yet again.
Only four months ago my council tax was increased by £10 per month which is far in excess of any pension increases I receive.
He talks of a shortfall for the refurbishment of The Dome. I have always enjoyed going to events at the Dome and, before the refurbishment, seats were reasonably priced.
Now, those too have exploded in price so much so that I cannot afford to go at all.
Wouldn't it be better to have reasonably-priced seats so everyone can go and fill the theatre?
Last week it hosted the fantastic BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Carl Davis and two lady operatic singers. Yet the Dome was only half full when it should have been filled to capacity.
I am afraid I just cannot see the logic of it.
